RE: Designer 35RLTS and Jayco Talk...Thanks Frank!!

Has anyone put an electrical outlet in their front compartment??
(the big slide thru compartment, not the very front compartment where I have the generator)
Would be nice to have an electrical outlet inside there...also where did you run the lines from?

RE: Michigan to Roundrock TX

We do the Flying J stops also and have been down to Tunica, MS more than a few times...as for fuel stops there is a Love's Travel Plaza at exit #116 on I-65 in Kentucky for fuel and they also have an RV dump/water, exit #93 is a Cracker Barrel that we have overnighted at more than a few times, exit #2 is a Flying J (very small so watch your turning radius) and a Cracker Barrel, and on I-40 west there is a Flying J at exit #182 and also a Flying J just before you get to Arkansas on I-40 west..watch the traffic in Nashville as that can be a PITA...

I can only comment on the first part of the route...pick up 57 in Chicago and take that south until you hook up again with 55 around Sykes, MO

RE: MI state park reservation policy

Yep full price + the $8 reservation fee is charged when reserved...then there's the purchase of the annual sticker for another $24 although if you are an old fart like happycampersweare then you get it for 1/2 price....:) :)
Michigan keeps raising their prices for the campgrounds and in my opinion makes it to darn expensive for non-Michigan residents to even think about camping in our State Parks. Based on 2008 rates a non-resident would pay a daily rate of $24.95 to reserve a W/E site (or $33.95 for W/E/S)+ $8.00 reservation fee plus either an annual permit ($24) or pay $8.00/day for each day they are there...

RE: Suggestions please for new disel batteries

If you have 2 batteries I make a point of replacing both at the same time...in the past I have purchased from Sears and have never had a problem...

RE: Moving to Michigan - License plate cost?

Forgot to add that if you have a TT or 5'er they base your PERMANENT license plate based on weight which I believe is $200 for less than 10,000 lbs and $300 for 10,000+ lbs...but like I said its a permanent plate for as long as you own the RV

RE: Casino Stops in Indiana & Louisiana on the way to Texas

To get to Belterra Casino take I-71 west toward Louisville, KY and take exit #55...turn right at top of ramp and go about 5 miles, go over the dam and then turn left when you get off the dam and Belterra will be about 1/2 mile down on right...we have dry camped there before; best place to park is turn into the first entrance you come to (between Casino and golf course) and park there back in the corner...excellent buffet and also has a Starbucks and a Ben & Jerrys ice cream
Depending on your route to Texas if you take I-71 to I65 south the next casinos you will happen upon are the casinos in Tunica, MS; there is also a casino in Metropolis, IL and New Albany, IN...
Contact me if you need more info for Belterra Casino (I highly recommend stopping) or the casinos in Tunica

A similar map update on the Garmin's for 2009 will cost you ~ $70 via the Garmin webiste (although other places like Walmart and Ebay may have a bit lower prices)
We update our Garmin every 2 years...

RE: MH plays music.

Had a similar problem at home...at odd hours, or so it seemed, we would faintly hear a rooster crowing over and over and over...about a week later we got fed up and tore the house apart...turned out to be a new watch we had bought as a present and the alarm was turned on...yep the alarm was a rooster crowing

RE: scary sway problems pulling 5er

16K on a SRW truck seems a little much...that may be the problem
16K on a SRW truck IS the problem...
This is the correct answer.
chevman
"This is" a lame a$$ excuse when talking about a swaying TT, when talking about a 5er it is just a plain stupid response.
Well thanks for adding nothing to this posting...
Swaying aside, when you start getting up to 14,000 lbs + and up a SRW is not a stable enough platform to be towing a 5'er this size due mainly to the pin weight...I have towed with both and the DRW does a much better job...can you tow this size 5'er with a SRW? Sure can you safely tow this 5'er and be able to stop safely? in my opinion no (swaying aside)
